Dr Lynda Spelman

Principal Investigator / Dermatologist

Dr Lynda Spelman is the Principal Investigator at Veracity Clinical Research. Dr Spelman is a graduate of the University of QLD, a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and has worked as a specialist dermatologist in Australia for over 30 years.

 

Dr Spelman is deeply committed to the delivery of ongoing exceptional dermatological services. She is the:

  • founder and a director of the Queensland Institute of Dermatology, a not-for-profit organisation devoted to training, research, and the provision of specialist dermatological services to patients across Queensland.

  • Chair and Director of the Queensland Skin and Cancer Foundation, and 

  • Head of Clinical Services (Dermatology) at Greenslopes Private Hospital.

Dr Spelman is a practicing Dermatologist at Gabba Dermatology where she treats her general dermatology patients. Veracity Clinical Research enables her to research patient medical issues and through trials and studies explore and provide more effective treatment options for patients experiencing inflammatory skin, nail and hair conditions and malignant skin disorders.

 

Dr Spelman has been involved in clinical research for over 30 years and has conducted over 210 trials and studies on an extensive range of dermatological conditions including:

  • atopic dermatitis (eczema)

  • chronic plaque psoriasis

  • psoriatic nail disease

  • palmoplantar psoriasis

  • hidradenitis suppurativa

  • seborrheic keratosis

  • alopecia

  • prurigo nodularis

  • lupus

  • actinic keratosis

  • superficial and nodular basal cell carcinoma

Clinical and Administrative Support Team 

Our clinical research trials are conducted by a team of skilled and experienced researchers, Sub-Investigators and Nurses registered with AHPRA. Team members have backgrounds in dermatology, general medicine, health science and nursing.

 

The team is continually trained and upskilled to effect best-practice and high-quality care for patients participating in our clinical trials. The team also attend international conferences and training to ensure they are informed about the latest innovation and content in dermatological practice.
